Teri Daggett, Kripalu Yoga Teacher/RYT 200, Y Yoga Studio

Teri has been studying yoga for several years and has recently transformed her practice into her own style of teaching. She graduated with a B.S. in Health, Leisure and Sports Studies, her emphasis in Community and Commercial Recreation. It was during college at the University of Iowa that she was first introduced to yoga. After several continuous sessions of yoga, she discovered a reduced amount of pain in her lower back and an enhanced sense of well-being. Soon after, she realized yoga was a necessity in her life. She has dreams of starting her own wellness business, so that yoga could be offered to others like herself.

Teri received her first taste of Amelia Island, Florida in 2001, when she finished an internship at the Amelia Island Plantation's recreation department. Like many others, she fell in love with the island life and decided to make a more permanent move to the area. She was introduced to Liz C Kawecki, Director of Y Yoga in May of 2002 and has been teaching and practicing yoga with her on a regular basis. She continues to make yoga a regular part of her daily routine, while trying to help others discover the extraordinary benefits of yoga. Teri is certified Vinyasa Flow Teacher, Yoga Fit Teacher in addition to being a certified Personal Trainer.

Adrienne Zegers, Hatha Yoga Teacher/RYT 200, Y Yoga Studio

Adrienne Zegers began practicing Hatha yoga in 2004 at Plum Tree Yoga in Roswell, GA. She immediately fell in love with this beautiful practice and its many blessings. After her dad's death in 2004, Adrienne's yoga practice was her sanctuary, allowing her to remain open-hearted and strong-minded. In 2006, she signed up for yoga teacher training, inspired by the words of poet David Whyte: I want to know if you are prepared to live in the world with its harsh need to change you. If you can look back with firm eyes saying this is where I stand. Adrienne completed the 200-hour yoga teacher training at Peachtree Yoga Center under the loving guidance of Graham Fowler, Ursula Nix, Sean Tebor and her fellow classmates. She also has studied in workshops with Tias Little, Betsey Downing, Betsy Blount, and Swamini Ma Chaitanyamayi. Collectively, Adrienne's yoga experiences have taught her to see herself clearly, to stand firmly in her own two feet, and to trust that God supports her. Adrienne is deeply grateful to her family and friends for loving her and for encouraging her to live out her dharma, her purpose in life. Adrienne recently moved from Atlanta to Fernandina Beach, where she befriended Lizzy and the Y Yoga family. She is excited about teaching at the studio and believes that every person can benefit from yoga. Adrienne enjoys leading others to the mat, encouraging each person to make the asanas a personal experience, to let go of expectations and anxiety, and to find joy in the practice. As she often reminds herself and others, there is no special place in heaven for a "perfect" pose; the pose is the reward.
